The Barcode Stream by Phil Thomson IPA

Canvas Prints

Available to buy on…

Early hours of the morning at one of Geelong’s more unusual water features, The Barcode Stream, on the Custom’s House lawn beside the Sailors Rest. This long shallow fountain or stream is capped with large stainless steel panels etched with barcodes. The barcodes are that of Noddy’s Softdrink which was a drink manufacturer located in Malop Street not far from Bellarine Street. It was a Geelong icon for generations of families. Sadly Noddy’s is no longer with us disappearing from the city during the 1990′s.

I often stand in awe and admire the beauty of God’s Creation. The colours, textures, tones and shapes, especially the way the light falls and reflects, thus revealing things often overlooked, particularly during the grandeur of a sunrise or sunset, or the spectacle of a rainbow.
I really just want to try and capture and share some of what I see as “The Creator’s Handiwork”.
