"A Weary Traveller"
This Koala had obviously had enough traveling, so decided to stop and sit in the middle of the road to Lake Elizabeth, in the Great Otway National Park. Fortunately it is not a very busy road and It did move on eventually.

"A Weary Traveller" belongs to the following groups:
Australian Landmarks and Icons, Geelong Throng, Live, Love, Dream: and Nature's Wonders Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

He must have sat still for you Phil as you have excellent detail and DOF! (He does look a tad disconsolate poor chap)

How gorgeous. Lovely capture. He must have known you’d be coming along to take his pic. :o)

I don’t know the location you named, the land behind him looks free of fire. I have always adored Koalas, but the introduction to Sam who drank from that kind fireman’s hand really did it for me. God bless all Australians, I’m so sorry your country went through so much, such horrible fires.
This is a wonderful creature. Do they always look so thoughtful and reflective?
Maximus

Phil, what a fab capture. We saw one walking across the road on Kangaroo Island. We all stopped to help it across the road. It wasn’t very friendly, but we saved its life. Cheers Elana.
