"Beacon of Hope"
The lighthouse at Point Lonsdale stands guard over the very narrow shipping passage of water through the Heads to Port Phillip Bay and also as beacon of hope and a welcome sight to many a weary sailor, as they know when this is seen, it is only a few more hours until they can dock in the Ports of Melbourne and Geelong.
