Bin savin up my dosh for some topshop clobber,
got looked at by a lady who thought I gonna rob her,
Riding home on the Northern Line feelin hot and sweaty,
no air to spare, people are gettin petty
But I’m feelin good, coz tonight im goin out
yeah London get ready coz philo’s goin out!
By day I’m just a slave on a minimum wage,
but tonight I’m comin up I’m takin center stage
Yeah that ant-infested bedsit on the 2nd floor
it even got a gold star hangin on its door
Got txts comin in from m8s whoz meetin up
n’ I’m necking back the vodka to sweetin me up
Now I’m checking out my style my cling my bling
tonight I want the honies to buzz around my sting.
Yeah I’m feelin good, coz tonight im goin out
yeah London get ready coz philo’s goin out
I covered up my doubts in sharp attire,
now all I need to do is get a little higher
I meet my m8s n’ we cruise the Soho bars
my head is spinnin I’m fallin with the stars
for girls for boys from venus to mars
I’m swingin like a pendulum goin to far.
The bars are closin so we head off to a club
yeah tonight’s the night I’m gonna fall in love
yeah I’m feelin good, coz tonight I’m goin out
yeah London get ready coz philo’s goin out!
Man that club is jumpin the beats are pumping
this place is steamin n’ I’m still dreamin
wit my arms up in the air man there aint nothing I won’t dare
sweatin and drinkin n’ usin and trippin
my star’s just gone super nova – then, bam! its all over.
Yeah I’m feelin good, coz tonight im goin out
yeah London get ready coz philo’s goin out.

The night bus is late ‘n im shivering n’ hurt,
naked to my waist cause some lads have stole my shirt.
My light’s goin out, my star’s goin in,
n’ I’m back here cold n’ achin’ outside n’ in.

Philo … great writing my friend … i dont usually read stuff on RB … but that was really good … Reminded me of a song near the end there … SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN … you tube it … the best versions are with Johnny Cash and Kris Kristoferrson … I think you will like it if you listen to the words a few times … I do … i will keep watchin’ you my friend … stay sober … well at least 50% of the time … and bin the drugs … they dont work … just hurt !!!

this is really well written stuff phil…i could see this performed on stage as a wrap or even a solo song with guitar…..really great storytelling – heartfelt and so raw and sincere. enjoying your writing a lot!
