I found this picture in my fathers garage over 30 years ago.
Looking at ‘the Frank Sutcliffe gallery’ this picture is almost identical to one in the gallery.
Can anyone tell me if they think this is by Frank Sutcliffe ?
and it’s value ?
(it is an original print from circa 1880)
Welcome to my world of photography.

my god phil, wonderful!
Cheers Dougie, I didn’t know the locations for the picture until yesterday when the fire service came round to do a free smoke alarm check. The fire officer recognised them as he checked my landing smoke alarm, found your Beggars Bridge picture via google and here we are !
love this one……..awesome, never heard of Frank Sutcliffe, im sure he was a fine young man.
Thanks, I am still looking for more information on Frank, he was a well known photographer around 1880, still not sure if he took these, but……………. I think he did !

This is terrific, Phil! My grandparents were born in 1886, one in Blackpool and the other in Lancashire. This pic gives me an idea of what life may have been like back then.
Thanks Pat,
It must have been hard back then !

What a wonderful find, I am envious.
I bought a book at the Sutcliffe gallery in Whitby last week.
A selection of his work, £20 well spent.
There is a similar pic of Sansend but looking in the opposite direction
when I get a chance I will scan it and upload it to your bubblemail.
Did you get it valued?
Cheers Mike.
Didn’t get it valued but I have seen his original prints go for several hundred pounds in auction.
here is the link to the other one I have of Beggars Bridge.
