This style of thatched roof is particularly characteristic of the mid-Hampshire villages. Roses round the door and a picket fence may be a cliché, but who could resist?

I am based near Winchester in mid-Hampshire (UK) and have enjoyed photographing a wide variety of subjects for over 40 years, though the digital revolution has been a real boon.
These just might be the cliches I love the best. I would love to live in this darling cottage.
Delighted you enjoyed it, and many thanks for making it a favourite. Philip

To have an image featured among the many stunning and deserving pictures in this group is a great honour: many thanks. Philip
Nice composition, Philip!
Thank you. A tripod is a great help, as is the grid my camera offers, though having to shoot this from the road, I did have to keep an eye open for traffic. Still, it was worth taking my time. Philip
Congratulations for being featured. Well deserved.
It is such an honour to have an image featured when amongst others of such high standard. Philip

Many thanks, I’m delighted you like it. We are so lucky the cottages round here look like this. Philip
This is so lovely, Philip. It harkens of another time and place, as if from a Masterpiece Classic or Victorian novel. It is not cliche at all. ~ Bernadette
I suppose that this has evolved organically, as it were, and there is therefore no sense of mindless repetition or conscious imitation; perhaps I should alter the caption. Thank you for making this a favourite. Philip
