It is so typical of Italy that ordinary 20th-century apartment blocks can also look attractive, even without the pines and the blue sky. These are on the steep walk up to the centre of Perugia from the main station.

I am based near Winchester in mid-Hampshire (UK) and have enjoyed photographing a wide variety of subjects for over 40 years, though the digital revolution has been a real boon.

    Do you know that this reminds me of the tenements from the turn of the 20th (or is it 19th century) in New York City. Now I know why!! They were Italian artisans who probably designed them and put them up too, likely.
