Solar Corona during Total Eclipse by

This is a complex HDR composite image of the 14th November 2012 Total Solar Eclipse. It was captured with a sequence of exposures taken through a 300mm lens and a small telescope with a focal length of 545mm. Processed primarily with Fitsworks and Photoshop. Note the subtle and delicate coronal streamers from the sun extending to the edge of the frame. There are also a few stars visible in the image if you look very closely.

Beautiful work, Phil. Is it graphite on white, or chalk on black? ;-) Is it last November’s event? I had to make do with a large partial in Brisbane. I’ll get to see a total one day.
