I am overwhelmed when I think of the history and the stories behind these places you visit Phil – another (almost moving) great shot.

    G’day Philip!
Are the secrets within the room, with the door leading to freedom – or do they lie on the other side? Is there a key to the door, or can anyone leave or enter with a simple turn of the handle?
All these answers and more, on the other side of your intriguing door! Excellent work!

  • Philip Golan replied

Thanks very much George. The church has many alcoves and little doors and corners that lead off to all sorts of mysterious places, and as to their accessibility, I don’t know. None of these doors were used while I was there, so one can assume that they contain chapels and may be used for mass.

I see the image of a person with the door as thier body. I wonder if it was made that way? Good shot, I love old doors.

  • Philip Golan replied

    Interesting Eric. I hadn’t noticed.
Thanks for pointing that out and for your comments.

Great shot, Phil. Is that the same door as you posted before….....just different shot of it? It is so small. If pictures could only talk!

  • Philip Golan replied

    Hi Sue.
No, this isn’t the same door, and I think I still have another one from this set that I haven’t processed yet.

Wonderful to be able to see all these historic places.
Looking at the state of the door, many people must have passed there

  • Philip Golan replied

If I am not mistaken, this door may lead to the Greek Chapel or to a room adjacent to the Armenian Shrine. Next time, I’ll do a proper survey.
    Thanks for your comments Gilberte.
