Rust in the Wind

Rust in the Wind

I drive by this windmill almost every day, twice a day, on my 40 mile commute to work in southwest Iowa. I kept waiting for the background and the lighting to be just right. I think today was it. This had some post processing in Photoshop. A little tweak to the color and contrast, but this is pretty much what I saw today with the setting sun hitting the blades of the windmill and bare cornfield.

Alright my friend you got me on this one…Its fricken fantastic. The depth is incredble, the sky rocks, love the shadows and the placement of the mill is perfect!! A perfect shot! Love this!
This would really make a stellar HDR…You should play with it!

  • Patrick Hickey replied

Thanks. I really wanted to do this one as it was, but I can definitely see HDR possibilities. I will give it a try.
