London Town
this is a combination manip/painting
I’ve been working on this for a couple of weeks – a little each night. I tried to add a lot more depth and light from the wet street. More shadows too….I wanted it to be modern – yet at the same time, have a long ago feeling. Does that make sense?
I didn’t want it completely straight either – meaning I wanted a tad of the impressionistic style.
I got tired at the end – and my brush strokes got a bit sloppy at the top…but I went back and tried to make it better.
I made this for a fried of mine who loves England….
(a birthday present).

it was raining like this in London yesterday after work > I think your work has a level of realism to it that can’t quite be captured by actually going out in the rain with a camera. Rain doesn’t look like rain on camera…
Trish Woodford
