Witches, Devils, Human Sacrifice, Cannibalism, Orgies. All in a night’s work for the Pagan Celebration on April 30 to May 1. The participants are shown here in the light of the traditional bonfire. The activity is frenzied, and in the painted figures ( done in the sgraffito technique ) all meld together into obscene groups in a forest clearing. The Christian Church somehow was able to swallow up the original meaning, but without all the fun stuff. Nobody but myself seems to like this rather dark 34 cm x 48 cm glazed acrylic painting on panel.
