Here is another of my Creative Paintings, this time of a Guardsman on Sentry-duty at Windsor Castle. The Castle is the largest Castle in the world, still in daily use. It was originally founded by William the Conquerer in 1066, by The Thames, at Windsor, a few miles from the existing Saxon Palace at Old Windsor, and every monarch since William has built additions to the old fortress, mainly to improve the comfort & magnificence of the Private Residence. The Royal Guards Regiments have the privilege & duty of protecting the Monarch, and carry out their mainly ceremonial duty with some style, marching through the town behind The Guards Band, performing the ceremony of The Changing of The Guard, every day, and marching back through the town to their Barracks. But they are no toy soldiers. The Guards Regiments have served in Iraq & Afghanistan, and are tough fighting men.
