There is no double exposure here. If you are referring to the peaks in the background, that is how they were, rows of mountain peaks fading into a rainy afternoon.

Brilliant! This looks so otherworldly. My first thought was, it looks like it could have been part of Middle Earth. Then I checked your profile, and voila! Great use of black and white, and the solitary figure facing away from the camera gives it a powerful human interest.
