This is the rig taken from the dance floor, otherwise known as the work deck. It was not a good day with regard to the sea state. Bucket anyone?

I’ve been to the Bering sea, and I know what you are talking about. I spent 3 years running to Antarctica, via the Southern Ocean, there, you have the largest seas on the planet. It is an awesome thing to be in amongst waves that are 20-25 metres in height. That my friend, Brian, is what adrenaline is all about.
That said, the most frightening sea I have been in so far, is Bass Strait. The big Southern Ocean rollers come up from the Southwest, and pile up into a short but high chop in Bass Strait, making for very dangerous seas, that have a tendency to cause boats and ships to take on large amounts of water, causing broaching, and destroying alot of deck gear, sometimes sinking the vessels.
But wherever you go at sea, life is dangerous. And exciting, except for the boring bits.
