How not to go about a photographic project...
...I have long been meaning to properly go digital and buy a decent camera. Sally and I found ourselves with some spare cash which wasn’t enough to buy the kind of camera I wanted, it was enough to get a Nikon ‘Coolpix’ camera which would shoot reasonable quality.
In August, we were off on a short trip to Cornwall and had all sorts of plans for what to shoot with our new toy… except we forgot to pack it, We were limited to what I could shoot with my mobile.
To cut a long story short, we had brough a laptop with us which had some software on it which came with the camera which stiched together pictures for panormaic montage pieces. We decided to use the mobile to see what we could come up with.
A strange happenstance was that the images had a lovely soft quality both in texture and colour wo we decided to utilise this and either stripped out the colour all together and made them sepia or dialed the colours right down but enhance the warmth of what was there to give a more impressionistic feel…
I’ve put up the fist set which were based around St Ives Harbour in Cornwall, SW England. Some more will go up soon which are of the view from the garden of the house we were staying in.
