I really love this shot.

The bucket could do with a little more space from the edge of the frame, especially along the bottom, the composition feels a bit tense.

Lol, hung from the night before I’d say. This is a cool shot; it’s got everything in it for me – a bit of wind in the sky, reflection, curves, strong lines, a lovely candid moment and a bucket. Perfect.

I like this for two reasons beyond the obvious appeal of the building. One, having lived in Manhattan for near 20 years, there is to my mind no big scenic vista, no colossal venue that humbles man by shear size. When people do something big here it’s either in the street or Central Park, neither of which celebrates civilization. Anyway, second is that very realization of how the mass makes the lone worker so small, suggesting an absurdly impossible task.

Congradulations on the feature in That One Great Shot

You have brought to my attention something I had never even thought about before – the cleaning of the steps at one of our Aussie icons.
Such a menial yet absolutely necessary task when compared to all the ‘arts’ and ‘arty’ people that frequent this prestigeous venue.
That you have made a very fine B&W image of this simple scene makes my viewing a visual treat.
