Web Of The Steel Tunnel
Web Of The Steel Tunnel was the very next image shot after Web Of The Steel Arch
rita thought rotating the first image was a good idea, but instead of simply doing so with that image, I decided to try it on the next image shot. This is it.
Given the circumstances – a collaborative shoot with Andromedae whilst driving across the Sydney Harbour Bridge – the settings were the same – shot in RAW using a handheld Canon EOS 10D with Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG HSM lens and Warm and UV Filters, ISO 100, 1/250 sec at f5.6, at 60kph, roughly. I should also add this image was not cropped, whereas the first was, on the left and ride sides, but without shifting the centre.
Web Of The Steel Tunnel belongs to the following groups:
Australian Contemporary Photography and Shades of Grey Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

brilliant Image and Title Peter
Peter Hill replied
Hi Chris – thanks! The actual intended target, the Lane Cove Tunnel, didn’t turn out so well, so I guess it’s a compromise!
Robert Hardy

This is just wonderful Peter, What a great piece and the one with it on the page is equally fantastic. I am marking it as a favorite for sure. I think the difficulty in a photo like this is finding the right spot and getting it all in. Your framing of the composition is perfect.
Peter Hill replied
thank you so much Elizabeth for your comments. Now I must give credit where credit is due and reiterate that I was the driver, urging my good pal Andromedae to shoot! shoot! as I steadied the car in the centre lane. Real close collaboration – but the finger that pressed that button and nailed the compo was hers!
Elizabeth Bravo
LOL I admit I didn’t read the side narrative until now. How funny. But how fantastic to get that shot. I thought the other was a different shot. Now I can see it….Still….you had the eye to tell her….do it….great job. I would do the same, but I have to give her a lot of credit SHE GOT IT.
Peter Hill replied
:) thanks Elizabeth – you’ve saved my bacon :)
Marguerite Foxon

Peter Hill replied

Bradley Shawn ...
Absolutely flawless. I love both images. The textures are superb, and the balance (which is often hard to get with shots like this) is brilliant. A great eye both of you have, and steady hands on both the camera and the steering wheel. Great job both of you. It’s a fav for me!
Peter Hill replied
thanks very much, Bradley. Your comment is especially appreciated, and I have passed it on to Andromedae, who also says thanks!
Bradley Shawn ...

How did I miss this comment? Sorry Adrian!
You are very kind in your compliment, thank you. I am just kicking myself I walked away from the craft for 20 odd years before returning with digital. I’d love to do it as a crust earner.
