Hi Crispin, yes Topaz Labs market their Topaz Adjust plug-in as giving “HDR-like” results, but without the layering. This process resides within the Filter menu and can be applied with enormous variance in a single application. I am currently using their free 30-day trial version.

Thanks Gail. I stumbled onto this process only recently. It’s a little application you download and it automatically slots into Photoshop as another choice on the Filters menu. I am using the free 30-day trial version

thanks. The owner of the cottage (who coincidentally found and bought this image while Googling her cottage) had put a LOT of effort into renovating this period house, so this photograph was basically waiting patiently to be shot.

The glowing colurs in this are exceptional, was it shot in HDR? I love how peaceful and calm this setting is

Hi Ana. No, this was shot with a P&S camera, albeit a good one until it stopped working. The effect was achieved in Photoshop using a plug-in called Topaz Adjust. Some fo the presets, including one I applied to this image, replicate the HDR effect.
