Stairway To Kevin
The real “Stairway To Kevin” is a music shop in nearby Leura mall, approached by …. stairs. Yes, they do have Led Zeppelin, and also a fine collection of folk and jazz. Alas, no Kevin.
These are the steps long ago carved into the sandstone cliff at Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains National Park which are referred to here

Definitely not for the faint hearted. The trip down mightn’t be too bad, it’s the return journey I’d be worried about. Guess I’ll just have to take it all in through your pics. We certainly live in a marvelous country of diverse scenery and landscapes.

All routes to music should look like this. Brings back memories of a fake Led Zep tape i bought with translation gems like “Starway to Haven” et al :)

wow very cool

Great image & great hike up these steps. This is great in the mist, but I imagine it would also be a great view on a clear day.

It’s not too bad N !!
Peter Hill in reply to Rosina Lamberti’s comment, 2 months ago
Thanks Rosina. Looks a bit risky I know, but the path down is basically your classic “Z” style, so at this point the stairs turn. Hence, lean-free !!

Yes, I’ve walked these steps, but these days I prefer to be on the wall side rather than the rail side. Wonderful, wonderful image Peter. [Many thanks for adding me to your Watchlist and for the favouritings. Cheers!]
Peter Hill in reply to GailD’s comment, 2 months ago
Yes, Gail, the view on a “clear” day is stupendously fantastically awesomely stunning. But not that day. This is a shot which would normally show the valley way below and which I took at the same spot at the same time:

I like this too. I’ll have to check it out.

Oh, this one is a wonderful image! Black and white on a misty, rainy day really conveys the atmosphere of the Wentworth Falls, which is one of my favorite places in the Blue Mountains. I actually prefer to be there on days like this, as you mentioned – No Tourists!

Looks like I need to plan a trip and check this place out..beautiful. I just enjoy the mist and tone in your work. Great work Peter. I like the fact that in the untitled shot you feel as if you are in the air…Heaven Perhaps..

Wonderful atmospheric shot, reminds me of a line from `Ghostbusters’. “Where do those stairs go?”......................”“They go up”

My stomach gets a little funny looking at this because I’m a wee bit scared of heights. I don’t let it stop me though and would love to be able to climb those stairs and capture some shots myself. This is a fantastic!
Peter Hill in reply to Darlene’s comment, 3 days ago
Well come on Down Under – be glad to show you the spot – it’s a sheer drop but the railing is quite secure.
