Artist's Description

Mt Hua is a sacred mountain in China and is near the city of Xi’an. It is comprised of 5 peaks and this is a view of some of the other peaks taken from North Peak. If you look closely you might be able to see the path which leads up the near face and the ridge right up to the top where there is a building. The mountain gets packed with tourists who often climb the mountain at night to get to the top by sunrise. This is very hazardous as there are many places with sheer rock faces and just toeholds and low chains fastened to the rockwall. In other places there are very narrow wooden walkways with no handrails and sheer drops!
