    also very interesting image

  • Peter Hammer replied

Thanks shanghaiwu. The car is real and was painted presumably by the person who runs the gallery (Peter Browne).

It is brilliant, beautiful work Peter.

  • Peter Hammer replied

Thanks Sharon but I can’t take any credit for the way the beetle is painted or for where it is standing.

My first thought was similar to Nerida’s: it looks like a trompe l’oeuil, forced-perspective hoarding! Is it atop a roof, or is that just a low plinth? I was wondering how you got up there!

  • Peter Hammer replied

Thanks armadillozenith. It’s actually only a foot or so off the ground. I didn’t get it up there though. It lives up there as part of the art gallery who own it. I presume they used a crane or possibly just a ramp to get it on the corrugated iron.
