Thanks Barbara. Wished I could have met you when I was in the Isle of Skye in May 2009. We had the clear blue skies one day and the next the fabulous stormy skies luckily with no rain. It’s a great part of the world.

“DESLUMBRANTE!” (portuguese) oh my this is God´s view
Peter Hammer replied
Thanks Tereza. And I was thinking whether I should go up to the piazza in the first place. Moral is when in doubt just go.

terezadelpilar
Loved your answer Peter:))) I was there too but at noon, so the colours were too bright:)
Peter Hammer replied
Thanks Tereza :-)
Noon wouldn’t be a good time to get there! The middle of the day isn usually awful photography weather if the sun is shining brightly. I was there the following night as well and it was blowing a gale and the dust was flying evrywhere. Made standing a bit hard. I didn’t think I was going to get much in the way of images but in fact they turned out really well. Not as good as this but different.
terezadelpilar
Yes Peter, the best shots are always taken early in the morning and sunset…but meanwhile we can shoot something, specially when travelling…at the end of the day, I don´t know were I left my feet! Thanks for your kind reply:))
Peter Hammer replied
Sounds like me Tereza. I’m usually on my feet all day when travelling so they are somewhat lost and tired but at least I had a great time! During the day isn’t bad for street photography and just exploring. Landscapes require a bit of thought and later manipulation, unless of course it is a stormy day when the light can be wonderful.
terezadelpilar
oh that is wonderful too! Stormy day, when the whites are more whites and the amount of greys hard to grasp…as I am always in awe looking at nature doing her work:)
Peter Hammer replied
Same here Tereza. Nature’s spectacles are hard to beat! I’ll have to put up a few more of my images taken on stormy days.
BornToRoam
