Great shot Pete, you’ve really got that soft European light working for you here. A great place and time
Peter Hammer replied
Thanks Steve. It was a good time to be there and the European light can be really nice.

Unusual take on this Peter, having the capture in the vertical format, looks wonderful and yes isn’t the European light just wonderful. I’ll be over there in a month
Peter Hammer replied
Thanks Robyn. I took heaps of shots here as it is just so lovely. Enjoy your trip over there. How long are you going for and where?
Robyn Lakeman
Did I use wonderful twice!! Sorry
Peter Hammer replied
:-)

Hi Peter, you can imagine you took heaps of shots :) I’m going to Barcelona on 2nd September, then a Mediterranean 12 night cruise through France, Italy and Croatia ending in Venice. Although we will be in Florence one day I am touring Tuscany again so won’t get to see the Ponte Vecchio or those gorgeous Paradise gates near the duomo. If you took any pics of the gates can you put one up, thanks.
Peter Hammer replied
Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful trip Robyn. We only really had one day in Florence even though we stayed 3 nights just outside Florence although went in to the city on a couple of evenings as well but fairly late. I can’t remember seeing the Paradise gates in Florence. I think we missed them. There is just too much to see in one day!
Robyn Lakeman
I meant “I can imagine” not doing too well today, recovering from a cataract op where I lost most of the sight in my left eye
Peter Hammer replied
Sorry to hear about your cataract op but hopefully now your eye will become more useable.
Robyn Lakeman
Thanks Peter, will be good to see properly again. Yes there is so much to do you can’t do everything. I feel the same way. We only have one day in Florence. Here they are
Peter Hammer replied
Thanks Robyn. I wasn’t all that interested in the buildings in Florence as taking photos of other people’s artwork is nothing more than a record shot. So while I did enjoy looking at them I spent a lot more time looking for other things. It’s a lovely city (apart from driving around in it although parking wasn’t too much of a hassle).

Incredible detail captured here. Great shot
Peter Hammer replied
Thanks Karen.
