Terraced Hillsides
The rice terraces of Long Ji. This shot was taken from the tracks between the lookouts above Pingan. The rice was just getting ripe so there are touches of gold in the fields.

My father farmed in the flatlands of Kansas. He is 83,
and he would cringe at having to work this hard.
Too bad he doesn’t have a computer. I would send
this to him and show him how easy he had it.
Breathtaking shot, Peter.
Peter Hammer
Thanks Vonney. What you have to remember with these terraces is that they were built up over thousands of years. Mind you the planting and harvesting of the rice is all done by hand so it is back-breaking work. Why don’t you send your father a card of this?
Cathleen Taraw...
