It’s funny Peter but,brand new to this site and I just hit the link to landscape photography to check it out and the first image I opened was yours,what were the odds! :) Love the mists golden colors,and the framing using the tree!

Cozmist, no I didn’t come to your place as it’s a bit too far away being on the other side of Australia :-) At least you don’t need to travel to get this sort of shot. I had to drive for the best part of an hour! Having 2 screaming kids would have made life hard. Now getting up at 3.30am to go fishing is real dedication!

I love this image Peter, I can almost feel the cool morning air, and the wetness of the ground under my feet.

Any image that invokes such real imaginings must be sensational!

How do you manage to get out to these places to shoot?

Thanks Charlotte and that is a wonderful comment. You have to get up early to get these shots. This one was taken on a camera club weekend away outing. I wanted to get to the meeting point well before dawn as I thought that there might be some good shots to be had. The people i was taking also were happy to get up very early and we all had a ball. This was about an hour’s drive from home. Although one can by oneself it is much more fun to have somebody else come along. I would do it more often if I had somebody to go with.

I love the way you’ve controlled the highlights & kept so much shadow detail, but that warm light bouncing off the mist takes the cake. Beautiful capture!
