Kangaroo at Warrawong Sanctuary South Australia by

One of my regular ‘mates’ at Warrawong Sanctuary in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. I call him ‘Kevin’…

The kangaroos and wallabies have become a bit of a long term project for me as I am still looking for the right image… I have a feeling I’ll probably never get it but its my cathardic ‘thing’ and always gives me a smile at their antics and at times boisterous behaviour…

They are all very distinct personalities but this one has the most beautiful eyes which I am yet to get in the right natural light. Warrawong is a bit different to many parks in that you must stay on prescribed paths so the animals always have the better of any photographer!

He’s beautiful :D Will you know if you find the perfect shot if they’re all so gorgeous? I think it’s just an excuse to keep going back to animal sanctuaries!! Like a person needs an excuse!!! Especially when the animals are so happy and well cared for.

  • Yes ok I am busted! Warrawong is like a tonic for the soul… I am sure you would agree.
I found on editing my last session the nuances of the ears face and poise showed how truly expressive they are. A series of 12 images over about 5 seconds were all ok but only one made it for me. Thank goodness for digital technology!
