Eucalypt forest • Warrawong Sanctuary, South Australia

A beautiful forest in the wonderful Warrawong Sanctuary in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

The colour and lighting is almost untouched in post production as the trees are in a valley with afternoon soft light just making the bark glow almost metallic. A wonderful place to visit during the week when it is quiet. If you are lucky you may even see a platypus.

    Lovely image Peter,
Is this where there is a lot of english trees up in the hills.
    Cheers Neil

There are many superb english gardens and specimens in the Adelaide hills due to the cooler climate. It was part of the early colonial culture that the ‘gentry’ would do anything to recreate the ‘mother’ country! Autumn sees the hills as breath taking and photographers literally start growing on trees on a Sunday afternoon…
