Double newsflash

For those who are interested (apparently you! Otherwise you wouldn’t have read this journal) two news items I’d like to share with you:

First, and maybe most important: I’ve bought a new camera! Didn’t expect that? Neither did I… at least not this soon. I was very interested in the Sony A700 after the firmware 4.0 release. And since I was granted an extra bonus (I didn’t see that one coming, but my management team did ;-) ), I decided to go for it: credit crunch or not… I’ve spent it on the A700. And what a great camera this is. OK, haven’t really used it yet. Did some shooting in house to test some of the settings. But… (and that’s part two)

... Wednesday I’ll be leaving for a short holiday. Spend some time with my colleagues in Austria. Most of them will go skiing, but one of them and me will go for a hike and take our cameras with us. That’s going to be great fun! After returning next Monday, I hope to put some new work online next week.

Just wanted to share this happy news with you!

Peter- I currently use a Sony DSC V3
Before marriage, kids and the wallet emptying spectre of divorce, I used to be a Nikon man- maybe i’ll get back there one day, if the lottery numbers smile on me!

Congrads on the new camera! It is a GREAT camera. I just picked up a Nikon D700 myself (I have a serious investment in Nikon glass already) Some of us having to keep the economy going! Looking forward to Austria pics, that will be an amazing trip for you!!

D700… A full-frame, isn’t it? Well done! I used a Dynax 5000, a Konica Minolta and now the Sony A700. Got some glassware and a wonderful flash take make it worth to stick to Minolta heritage at Sony.

Yesterday I received the official letter, signed by the Managing Partner en HR Director. It was incredible what they wrote about me… Apparently, I did a good job. And my new camera is the best way to enjoy the result, celebrate the achievement and know that I deserved it. Such a strange but wonderful feeling… Thank you for your kind words!
