Panavia Tornado GR4

Peter Lawrie

Panavia Tornado GR4

Developed and built by Panavia, a tri-national consortium consisting of British Aerospace (then the British Aircraft Corporation), MBB of West Germany, and Alenia Aeronautica of Italy, the Tornado first flew on August 14, 1974.
The Tornado GR4 is a variable geometry, two-seat, day or night, all-weather attack aircraft, capable of delivering a wide variety of weapons. Powered by two Rolls-Royce RB 199 Mk 103 turbofan engines, the GR4 is capable of low-level supersonic flight and can sustain a high subsonic cruise speed. The aircraft can fly automatically at low level using terrain-following radar when poor weather prevents visual flight.

Superb shot, I think this actual ‘Tonka’ might be languishing in a hanger at Cosford at present.

I CAN’T PAINT LIKE NEIL CAN, BUT IF YOU WOUD E-MAIL THIS TO ME, I’D LIKE TO TRY A PROCESS LIKE I USED ON ANOTHER ARITISTS SHOT OF AN ELECTRA. I E-MAILED IT BACK TO HIM AND HE LOVED THE AFTER LOOK COMPARED TO HIS ORIGINAL SHOT. IT TAKES THE BLUE OUT OF THE REFLECTION ON THE SKIN OF THE PLANE. MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS RFCEES3WOLVES@COMCAST.NET. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. I WON’T POST IT TO MY GALLERY WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION AND IT WON’T BE PUT UP FOR SALE. IF YOU DO ALLOW ME TO POST IT, IT WOULD HAVE YOUR NAME IN THE BILINE. I THINK YOU WOULD LIKE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE JET AFTERWORDS. I TURN A GREAT SHOT INTO A PHOTO ART IMAGE. BOB :)

  • Peter Lawrie replied

Thank you very much for the interest in in shot. You may experiment with it if you wish. I will sort out a JPG and send it over.

ALSO, SEND YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS TO ME IF YOU WILL. IT’S THE ONLY WAY I KNOW OF GETTING IT BACK TO YOU. I TRIED TO OPEN THE IMAGE THAT I HAVE STORED IN MY FAVORITES, BUT THE FILE WAS TOO SMALL. I USE PRINTMASTER 11 WHENEVER I NEED TO INCREASE THE FILE SIZE OF AN IMAGE. IF YOU CAN, TRY TO MAKE THIS FILE SIZE AT LEAST 4096 PXLS BY 3062 PXLS. WITH WHAT I WAS ABLE TO EXPERIMENT WITH ON THE SMALL FILE PHOTO, THIS IMAGE SHOULD LOOK VERY COOL WHEN I’M FINISHED WITH IT. I THINK YOU WILL LIKE IT ALOT. BOB THAT’S RFCEES3WOLVES@COMCAST.NET,,,,,,,,,SUBJECT : TORNADO
