This was taken on an utterly magnificent farm near the Grampians in Victoria. It’s so sad to see the effects of the drought first hand – the paddocks were just dust.
Awesome Panorama!!! Oh how I miss the Grampians!!! It is looking really fry eh. :( I was over to Victoria and SA for Xmas and couldn’t believe how dry it was. I guess the Wimmera River is just a trickle now eh? :( And Lake Wendouree in Ballarat is bone dry!! I lived in Ballarat for my first 20 years and NEVER even saw the lake get low. That was pretty depressing for me.
The choice to go panoramic on the crop here without question accentuates both the vertical structure of the trees in foreground, but also plays up the shift in light warmth from left to right. Very dramatic thanks to the proper positioning on your part, sidelighting perfectly applied to reveal all the depth one wants in a nice, simple, evocative landscape such as this one here!
