Working with the railway you spend so much of your time exposed to the elements in harsh conditions. Yet every so often you glimps something of unspeakable beauty that makes you stop and smile and feel so very grateful for the opportunity. You have captured this feeling so well.
This is a great shot and I love the contrasting light on each platform of the station- just glad you didn’t get fined the $100 or whatever it is for being on the tracks!
I see a lot of interesting subjects in this one photograph. From the overhead wires to the concrete-retaining-walls, this station holds a multitude of future photographs. Good composition, great idea. Seems a bit dark though, ‘would be interesting to see the same shot on a blue-sky day!
Re: lighting Its interesting, one could say that the scene is too dark because the shadows aren’t detailed but on the other hand it might reflect the way it actual was: in the twilight. It could be the monitor being used to view the image also.
this is a nice photo….bwa hahahaha. sorry, i mean i like it. basically all i can say is i’m a sucker for leading line and all the line in this shot drag you right in, it almost feel like you at the tip of the train and it’s starting to move.

Some lens; great image too, I love the little reflections down the rail. This is how we should me everything around this big brown country of ours.

I’m always scared to jump down and grab these shots.
Not so much of station people, but more of trains sneaking up behind me.
