Hot Air Balloon

I went for a hot air balloon ride a couple of weeks ago – it’s quite the way to travel. I was surprised by the accuracy of the ‘steering’. The wind direction varies with altitude, so the pilot took us up and down into different air currents to control our direction. We landed within a few hundred metres of the target – after a 20km flight. Mind you, we did crash into a tree during the landing. This is an image looking into the ballon from the basket.

I love this shot Peter, the color is so rich and the perspective brilliant, it looks like its taken from above…I’ve been promising myself a balloon ride for years…thanks for the reminder of how gret it will be…

Oh I just love hot air ballooning, it is such a peaceful way to travel and you can hear things like cattle as clear as day from up there. I just love the way you approach your images from different angles.

I LOVE hot air ballooning… It’s so peaceful (when the gas jets are off) and very beautiful up there. Just floating around under a really huge bubble!! It’s a brilliant photo you’ve got there.

I love this photo and your description reminds me of our wedding day when our hot air balloon crash landed into a recently ploughed feel and i had to crawl out in full wedding dress lol. Anyway, vibrant, beautiful shot.
