On my first outing in the Masai Mara in Kenya we saw a highly endangered Black Rhino and its calf. I was’nt that great at photography at the time and had my ISO set to low (100 in cloudy conditions) somost of my shots were blurred. this isnt that sharp but I like the motion blur and I dont think that there’s many similar rhino shots on RB. The legs really give a sense of speed. Next time I’ll nail those rhino shots :)

This was one of the first images I uploaded to RB and was in black and white, and this is a reworked version in Lightroom 3.

Canon 400D
Canon 100-400 L IS @ 400mm
F5.6
1/13th sec
ISO 100 (should have been about 400 at least Id say for this shot and 800 for the static shots)

Rubbish on what you say about the wrong iso…you have here a very incredible image…the blur is fantastic..the important part that must be sharp is the eye….
All I would do to criticise, is to crop off the dark edge at the top….this is brilliant, be proud !!

  • Good advice Barbara. Its pretty sharp considering I guess. Your portfolio is outstanding so I really appreciate your input :)
