I lived in Seattle, Washington (USA) for a short while and this Russian Orthodox Church sat directly across the street from my apartment. I became fascinated with the architecture of the building and had to photograph it one day. This picture was actually taken during the day. I used Photoshop to alter the color scheme and inserted the full moon from another shot that I had previously taken.

It’s all about the perspective!

incredible work!! crisp clear lines, bold colors, this looks so three dimensional… your moon is wonderful~ everything about this image is like reading a good piece of poetry or like hearing a the most beautiful voice sing eloquently amongst lilting and dancing orchestra of beats

This is an unorthodox composition, but it’s very beautiful. Blue and yellow/orange against the black of the sky gives it a somewhat festiv air.

I used to live in the Seattle-Tacoma area of the Pacific Northwest. Is this the Russian Orthodox Church you can see from the I-5 corridor, going North on the left-hand side of the road?

  • I’m not sure… It’s on 13th Ave on Capitol Hill . . .
