In memory of MY angel, my baby sister – Kyelcie Dawn Yates (1991 – 2000), who passed on to a better place just before turning 9 years old – but for each year I live, her memory lives on.

I frequent cemeteries in order to capture the beauty of the statues that can often be found within. One day, while walking thru Saint Michael Cemetery (Louisville, KY), I caught a glimpse of a marble angel, draped across a casket forever mourning the loss of the one eternally resting underneath. I was struck with it’s beauty and spent over an hour photographing it, as it made me think of my sister. Laying on the cold ground, I took this shot from underneath the angel’s arm…
