Missionary Man
This is a picture belonging in a series I am making about religion.
This one is one out of two representing Christianity.
It was done by first drawing a sketch of the two persons in the picture, then I scanned it in to Photoshop where I inked and colored it.

great characters and treatment. it’s looking good. i love his sidekick. is there a story to it?
Per Ove Sleen replied
Thank you very much for your kind words.
Yes there is a story to it, even though it is at a developing stage for the moment.
It is not a story for the faint hearted or easy offended people.
The story takes place in a not too distant future, where chaos and confusion rules and people are without any hope what so ever.
The priest/missionary in the picture is NOT the one bringing about love and understanding to the world again…..believe me….don’t think any one will in this tale anyway.

sounds good. reminds me of a certain DC vertigo comic that maybe you’ve read. one of my favourites. i like the mix of religion with the other stuff you wouldn’t normally associate with it. keep posting from this series, i’d love to see more :)

Thank you for your nice and encouraging words.
I do at writing time have nothing less than 4 big epic graphic novels in work (one ready now these days), so I guess there will be a span before I get time to work more on this particular idea. But you never know, sometimes I just don’t give a hoot, and just draws what comes to mind (most likely the explanation to my momentary chaotic state of mind…) despite what’s on my schedule.
To stay in tune with these things it’s actually a good idea to check my blog regularly. That’s the most likely place to get hold of the tiny news trickle out of my studio. You see I’m not good at self promoting despite selling exactly that service to some of my earlier customers…..I’m probably what you’d call a walking contradiction in that manner.
P.S. I think I’ve seen the DC Vertigo character you mentioned at some point in time, but can’t really recall context and time. I also don’t want to check it out right now from fright for getting too influenced and/or loose my nerve due too too much likeness at this stage. The chance that I should end up writing and drawing something similar to DC’s characters, are microscopic…
Take care..

Wonderful work. The character in front reminds me of ‘The Man in Black’ from Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’ series.
