  • Per Ole Hagen replied

Thanks a lot, Catherine. I would lie if I said I wasn’t satisfied with the way his hair came out!

Have you been here often? I just came back. This is so dynamic to the smallest details. The way his hair is floating is the finest touch! The exaggeration (?) reminds me ‘Manga’ like style; of course, the application is totally different. It has wonderful contrast to built drama. It is WB presentation, but I feel burning heat within it. Did you post this at FAR? I will check and leave the same comment…

  • Per Ole Hagen replied

Thanks a lot, Yasue. Yes, I have posted it at FAR too. I haven’t exaggerated anything about his hair, I was extremely lucky that it came out this way. The band is great, too!

Jeeze, yer blowing my mind with this stuff. I have NEVER seen a cooler shot of a bass player. I’ve seen Lemmy on fire, I’ve seen Flea kicking butt, Entwistle larger than life, and enough shots of what’s his name in Slipknot scaring the crap out of little girls… but none of them compare with this little known dude from Norway. It’s the way that neck slashes through the frame and the angles it makes with his legs and arms that make this composition burn into my soul. And as if that’s not enough, you got the hair so perfectly balanced in mid flight almost perfectly perpendicular to the rest…

Your framing is perfect, tones and dynamic are stunning, and you captured this guy’s soul through every inch of his rockin’ persona. Has he seen this? If it were me, I’d want it on my tombstone!
Thanks for seriously knocking my socks off!!

Outstanding… I look at a lot of rock photography and this is one of the best shots I’ve seen recently. You’ve captured the essence of Metal. His hair has the same curve as the head of his bass… very cool. The shine of the leather pants adds a richness to the photo… Just love it!
