Artist's Description

This multi-dimensional pastel mandala reflects biographical, perinatal and transpersonal aspects of my history and experience as an Indigenous woman.
The dragon is erupting through the cervix to destroy the foetus, my birth mother attempted an unsucessful abortion. My great great grandmother was run down and captured by two policemen on horseback, in 1895, her half-caste children were taken from her. Her feet were doused in pertrol and set alight to prevent her from chasing after them.
