Artist's Description

This pastel mandala is related to the second stage of labour.
I was a face presentation, a traumatic high forceps delivery.
My mother, unmarried, a victim of the Stolen Generations, was given opiates and narcotics. I was adopted out at birth.
We have never met. However she validated details of my birth in one of our few phone conversations, years after I had drawn about my memories of my conception, womb time and birth.
This is part of a reconciliations series, the theme is Sorry Business.
