The Doll

I’ve stepped outside and found that everything was small
My sight was narrow and filled with flaws
Every little touch felt like my fingertips were frozen
It hurt when I didn’t cry
You looked at me and asked me why
I could only give you that same old smile
Now, there were more questions and the answers never fit the pieces
It’s like you trampled on something I couldn’t get back
You silly little girl
Your heart is latched onto veiled ghosts and changing seasons

Please be still
Close the door

Goodbye Little Girl…
