Can you hear her?

Can you hear her, on the banks,
Crystal, shining, sparkling, seething?
Can you hear her, on the banks,
Bubbling, streaming, foaming, breathing?

Can you see her through the trees,
Boundless, Empty, Endless, Blue?
Can you see her through the trees,
Crowded, Burning, Shining, New?

Can you feel her ‘neath your feet,
Rocky, Brooding, Solemn, Cold?
Can you feel her ‘neath your feet,
Churning, Turning, Violent, Bold?

Can you hear her, calling out,
Thundering, booming, shaking, crashing?
Can you hear her, calling out,
Blowing, whispering, lightning flashing?

Can’t you hear her crying,
Howling, whistling, screaming, squealing?
Can’t you see her dying,
Darkening, failing, gasping, reeling?

Look in the water, what do you see?
Ignorance, Sloth, Insensitivity
Look in the water, what should you be?
Caring, faithful, wise, as He

Recall the Earth that’s in your trust,
Remember you both were sprung from dust
So take a second look around
And learn to love your given ground
God gave you this noble right
So rise up now, and be her Knight

As He hath done unto you, so must you do unto Her

Can you hear her?
