Have us spring upon the morrow,
No sorrow for this,
Just an ever-lasting bliss!
Baked as we are by the sun.
This dull-eyed insolence
Has held the yesterdays in place,
Racing as they do to the start,
Staring like zoo-visitors at once had fun.
Toward the desires of my future
I hold no secrets,
It is in those hidden hearts,
Ever-changing as they are
That stars are born,
And a new universe begins its effortless expansion.
When the crush comes in,
I will gladly suffer the heart-burn
So long as I can smile and enjoy the show,
Joyously subdued with the knowledge
That there is no need to applaud;
The encore is a given.
It is eternal.
