This was taken on the way to Crystal Lake Ski Center in Hughesville PA, USA
Nikon D5000, 18-55 mm lens
The building is called The Casino. It was part of the Hotel which was in the middle of the field to the right as you pass the casino and farmhouse on the left.
All the buildings you see in the cluster are part of what was then known as the Essex Hotel owned by a Dr. Essex in Hughesville.
The building has a bowling alley on the first floor and was a dance floor upstairs. It is used for storage by The Welteroths, the current owners of all that property. the former owners of the property were the Price Family and one of the family owners had bought the house that they inherited from the estate and we bought from them 3 years ago. The Casino is deteriorating at a increasing rate now.

Great Find, excellent framing, colors and shadows.

  • Thanks Byron. I was a little worried about the “leaningness” (if that’s a word) of this building because it almost makes the image look a little lopsided but the building really is leaning like that.
