We are gathered here to pay our final respects to our brother George.
George was a snail extraodinaire. Chapion slitherer, acclaimed hider-in-shell and
voted only recently as the snail most likely to slime.
He was a snail who lived life to the full. A famous model, star of many pictures and calendars,
he knew his worth and was not one to hold back.
Victim of a tragic accident – a game of leapfrog gone wrong – he died as he lived – never fearing to come out of his shell.
He is survived by wife Stella (common-law) and his devoted keeper, Pene.
May he rest in pieces.

Hmmm…. A tragic loss.
His ‘partner’ of many months,Stella, was so upset she wouldn’t come out of her shell… just sat there blowing bubbles.
It’s all so very tragic! We shall miss him terribly!

Poor old George… but it sounds like he went away doing something he loves, and with friends and family around too (so he didn’t die alone). I hope Stella’s cheered up!! ;D

it didn’t win!! Well, if I had known about it and was a member of the Canon club (and had a Canon camera for that matter… I have Olympus), I would have voted for George’s photo. Congrats for being in the ‘top 10’ :D

OMG I have never laughed so hard and cried ..ok so I didnt cry, but I will never look at snails like escargot again…they have common law wives after all sighsss give Stella my condolences lol

LOL!!! This is a wonderfully delightful capture! I love lightsmiths eulogy…very touching! I never knew George but I feel like I know him through the pictures! So sorry for your loss =)
