This Sundew is so TINY !! About 1cm (3/8th inch) across. But so beautiful !!
I’m not sure if it’s technically a flower as it’s a carnivorous plant, but it looks like a flower to me :)

the back gound is actually my camera bag :) i put it there to try and block some of the breeze that was blowing and i liked the effect it had.

you’re right about it not being a flower – they do flower though, as i’m sure you know. no insect would survive trying to pollinate it.
they’re very hard to do justice to – you’ve certainly succeeded. the depth of field at that magnification is extreme.. love the simple background – does the subject justice.

This is gorgeous – great depth of field that makes it really dynamic.
It isn’t a flower though. This is the equivalent of the plants leaves really. It has a purple or white flower on the very top which is also very striking. I think there’s a scarlet one too, but the ones that grow near me that are scarlet are really tiny and barely visible. Climbing sundews have the purple or white flowers. There’s also the Scented Sundew which is the sundew that grows flat on the ground, starting out green and turning red. It has a large white flower too.
As you can tell, I love sundews lol! :B Bit of a sundew nerd…
