Greetings fellow photo buffs,
All my life I’ve been fascinated by the intricacy of design in God’s creation. From the Brush Turkey who builds a huge mound for the eggs & then keeps it at exactly 91 degrees F, the amazing dance of honeybees to guide the hive to a food source, to the amazing Woodpecker whose beak hits the tree 900 times a minute at 1,000 G’s for each impact.
The incredible platypus has a bill like a duck, hair like a bear, it lays eggs like a turtle, it has a tail like a beaver, web feet like a duck, claws like a reptile, feeds its young on milk like a mammal and detects electrical impulses – incredible! The unique echidna looks like a wire brush stuck in an ants’ nest, it’s a mammal but it lays eggs. I love the way they roll up in a ball & point those amazing quills at you when you find them in the bush.
As for landscapes I believe that the ministry of God’s creation is to restore our souls. Have you felt refreshed after sitting on a beach and listening to the waves crashing on the shore, the sound of gulls circling overhead. Or sitting in the bush with a cup of billy tea listening to the amazing array of bird song, marveling at the trees and the critters.
No camera, no matter how expensive, is a match for the amazing complexity and sensitivity of the human eye, but we do our best. Like most of us I’ve gone through a range of cameras, starting with film & now shooting almost exclusively digital, currently a Fujifilm Finepix S9500.
Peter
