For the Children of Sandy Hook Elementary by

This image is designed to cut through the NRA bumper sticker nonsense and fear mongering which stops responsible gun laws, statistical recording of gun related deaths, and research into the causes of so many unnecessary killings each year.

Guns kill people. That is what they are designed to do. Every single day people die from violence and accidents involving guns. Child die, parents mourn and the gun industry profits from death, pain and suffering. How many more innocent people need to die?

Americans own almost 200 million guns. However, a gun in the home can be very dangerous, especially for children. Every year, nearly 1,500 children die from guns and many more are seriously injured. The American Academy of Pediatrics believes the best way to prevent gun-related injuries to children is to remove guns from the home. However, if you choose to keep a gun in the house, it is important that it is unloaded and locked, and the ammunition is stored and locked in a separate location.

Photographing for thirty years, I’ve experimented with alternative processes, 4 × 5 press cameras, and now digital photography. My work has appeared in Camera and Darkroom Magazine and Stuff Magazine.
