David R Piszczek: - Artist’s Statement: - To best describe my images is to reflect on my life experience. My early environment was ever-changing and unpredictable. As a youth, human relationships were never guaranteed. As I matured, I began interpreting life in my own direction. I started to appreciate simple forms, shapes, and thoughts. During most of my working career I’ve been involved with creating and designing complex product shapes for various industries, yet always having to conform to outside interest and influences. As a result, I started to identify my own escape valve for personal creativity. Having a strong interest in photography, this was a natural direction. As in designing shapes and forms for the product design industry, light has a very powerful influence and must be considered part of the subject matter. As light reflections flow, dance, and conform to the shape, light itself becomes that shape. Light in it’s proper placement will produce great art. To achieve fine photography, in my opinion, is all about orchestrating the placement of light. I am and always will be a student of the fine art of photography. Nature itself presents endless opportunities to create fine art. I am challenged to create images of simplistic beauty. The camera is the tool; nature is the inspiration; and the mind is the interpreter. There is a powerful sensation created when witnessing a mind getting captured by a image and then set free to give judgement. I especially enjoy the opportunity to capture an image that is “hidden in plain sight”. My images are best described as refreshing, soothing, and simplistic.
