For SoJie- Workshop 14, I have done a digital translation of the traditional painting “Garden Variety Siamese”, by F.A.Moore

The software that was used was Vue Infinite, 3DS Max, Photoshop CS4 and Topaz.
In my interpretation I decided that the cats belong to a Thai monk and live in a Monestary…they have just been interrupted while attempting to devour a butterfly.
While working on the piece, it struck me how similar what I was doing was to the Garden of Eden , which is how I chose the name.
I have been an Art Director in the Video Games industry for almost 15 years. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s a lot more work than most people realize. The hours are long and the responsibilities are many. It has left little time or energy for some of my more time consuming creative endeavors, sculpture,3D Modelling, illustration and film making, especially when balancing a family.

Ah! More golden touches and the butterflies. Such a beautiful work, Peyton! I couldn’t be happier for providing the spark of inspiration for this lovely and perfectly executed digital art. Very believable, too, by the way, which is important. I love how they are captivated by the monk and do look as if “caught in the act”. The title adds to the scene! Congratulations!
Thank you Frannie I am very happy with the result and even more so that you are. The whole concept of the “translations” is awesome, can’t wait to do it again.
